Independently Tested Tertiary Wastewater Treatment for Ireland
TPW Systems is pleased to announce that the Eurotank TER3 has successfully completed independent treatment performance testing and is now listed by PIA within its Irish Tertiary Treatment Systems – Part 7 category.
This represents an important milestone for TPW Systems and provides wastewater professionals, installers, engineers, site assessors and homeowners in Ireland with a new independently tested tertiary wastewater treatment option.
The Eurotank TER3 from TPW Systems is a tertiary wastewater treatment system designed to provide an additional stage of treatment to secondary-treated wastewater before final discharge to an appropriately designed infiltration or polishing system.
The TER3 has undergone independent treatment performance testing by PIA – Prüfinstitut für Abwassertechnik GmbH under EN 12566-7, with results corresponding to the requirements of S.R. 66.
The Eurotank TER3 is currently the only system listed by PIA within its Irish Tertiary Treatment Systems – Part 7 category, providing homeowners, wastewater professionals, site assessors, engineers and installers with an independently tested tertiary treatment option for the Irish market.
What Is Tertiary Wastewater Treatment?
Wastewater treatment can involve a number of different stages.
Primary treatment separates and retains solids. Secondary treatment provides further biological treatment of the wastewater.
Tertiary treatment adds an additional treatment stage following secondary treatment, further improving the quality of the treated effluent before it enters the final infiltration or polishing system.
The appropriate wastewater treatment solution for any property depends on a number of factors including site conditions, occupancy, treatment requirements and the recommendations contained within the site assessment and system design.
The Eurotank TER3 provides wastewater professionals with a dedicated tertiary treatment solution tested specifically in accordance with EN 12566-7.
Independently Tested Performance
The Eurotank TER3 underwent extensive independent treatment performance testing.
During testing, the TER3 achieved final effluent results of:
- BOD₅ – 4 mg/l
- Ammonium Nitrogen NH₄-N – 0.4 mg/l
- Suspended Solids – 4 mg/l
The tested system also passed the applicable watertightness, structural and durability assessments.
These results provide independently verified performance data that designers, installers and customers can use when evaluating the TER3 for a wastewater treatment project.
Performance figures quoted are results recorded during independent testing. Actual system performance is dependent upon correct system selection, installation, operation, loading and maintenance.
